“ Drove up from The Springs in search of the elusive real hand battered chicken fried steak and BBQ. Haven't had much luck in four years. It's a huge CFS! The first bite, I thought I heard a choir of angels singing. It's something I haven't tasted in YEARS! I can't believe we FINALLY found real CFS, in a small mountain town of all places. They also make the best Mac n cheese we've had. We got ribs so go. The best BBQ as well!! We found our favorite restaurant, but it's up Ute Pass lol. Worth it!! ”
“ We tried the hot link, 24 tater and of course the brisket(moist lol). I have eaten barbecue all over the country and I’ve lived in the South. Roy’s received a solid A from me. Everything was hot and made to order. The brisket has good flavor even though I usually prefer a little heavier on the smoke and salt. The hot link was exactly as advertised when most places fall short. Beyond that, the service was excellent from a very young and professional crew. Keep it up. We will be back! ”
“ Roy’s was unreal. Arguably the best southern cooking I’ve had in all of Colorado. Got the fried catfish that was done to perfection and even came with tasty hush puppies. For sides, I got Mac and cheese and fried okra which was a perfect combo. Cornbread left some to be desired, mine happened to be a bit dry but considering how much food I got I didn’t mind not finishing it. To top it off, I got a peach cobbler for dessert with vanilla ice cream. Could tell it was made from scratch and it was just unreal. Great ingredients, great service. I will go out of my way to go to Roy’s again ”
“ Stopped in for a bite to eat and we were not disappointed. I had the chef’s salad with roasted turkey and a piece of cornbread. The roasted turkey was quite tasty. The ingredients were fresh and I liked the honey mustard. My hubby had the 3 meat option; ribs, sausage and turkey. He enjoyed his food too. He had the cole slaw and potatoes as his sides. The staff were super friendly! We will be back! ”

“ I have a true chicken fried steak connoisseur in the family who is always on the hunt for the best, and she declared Roy's as #1. Not just the best in the area, but the best she has ever had! The batter was fresh and crispy and the gravy was perfectly peppered. We also tried the chicken fingers, okra, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, cornbread, and rolls. Every single thing was excellent. The portions were generous, we had enough leftover for an entire 2nd meal. And we loved the table games (checkers, pegs) while we were waiting for our food. Service was fast and friendly, and everything was impeccably clean. We'll definitely be back! ”
“ Outstanding food! The chicken fried steak was next level good. I'm still shocked by just how great it was. The staff is young, high-school age kids, but they were amazingly good at their jobs. They were very polite and professional, and they each did their jobs well. I have a preference for extremely hot food, and when I asked for my sweet potato fries to be thrown in the microwave and heated, the young man in the back flat refused and instead brought me a fresh basket of sweet potato fries, directly out of the fryer. They were, by far, the best I'd ever had at that point. Amazing. I didn't get a lick of flack for my request, and literally every employee there was kind, happy to help, and seemed genuinely glad that my family and I were there. You just don't see that anymore these days. Whoever hired and put that team together is pretty amazing at what they do. I am excited to recommend this restaurant to folks any time I have the opportunity. McKenna and Bella deserve a special mention. They were both an absolute delight to meet and work with as we enjoyed an outstanding dinner tonight. We will absolutely be going back to eat there again, and we will do so frequently. ”
“ The ribs were phenomenal! I wish I got a photo but they were fall off the bone good! The fried okra was the perfect “crisp”, the ranch was amazing! Every single thing was so delish! It was so good on our last night we chose our most favorite meal we had to go eat at that place again! And you guessed it we picked Roy’s with no hesitation! Not to mention their BBQ sauce is so good I got some to bring home! Highly recommend this place! ”
